Dr. Ahmed Abo Baker Mohamed, M.D., FAAP

Dr. Ahmed Abo Baker Mohamed received his bachelor’s degree in surgery and medicine from Cairo University in Egypt in 1997. He then pursued his specialty in pediatrics, graduating with the highest honors. He decided to pursue a career in the United States and began residency training in 

pediatrics at St. Joseph Medical Center in Paterson, New Jersey, which is affiliated with Mount Sanai School of Medicine, New York. In 2006, he was certified as a diplomat of the American Board of Pediatrics. Dr. Baker is affiliated with both hospitals in Bay County - Gulf Coast Medical Center and Bay Medical-Sacred Heart. He currently serves as Chief of the Pediatrics Department at Bay Medical Center SHH. He was previously the director of the Pediatric Service at Bay Behavioral Hospital, as well as the director of the Pediatric Obesity Program at Children's Medical Services.

He is married with two daughters and two sons. His hobbies are family-oriented, including reading, writing, and swimming.


Dr. Mahmod Mhamad Darfil, M.D. 

Dr. Darfil is a native of Syria. After graduating from high school with the highest honors, he gained admission to one of the oldest and most prestigious medical schools in the world, Damascus University. He completed his studies in 2009 and went on to pediatrics residency at New York University affiliated Woodhull Hospital in New York City. He relocated with his family to Panama City, Fl after the completion of his residency and joined the Future Pediatrics team in July, 2017. Derek Holman, PA-C (Physician Assistant), MPAS

Derek Holman is a native of Phoenix, Arizona. He is a board-certified Physician Assistant and is licensed in the state of Florida. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Kinesiology from Penn State University in 2011.  During his time at Penn State, he was a competitive cheerleader and an active member of THON (A student-run philanthropy raising awareness and funds for childhood cancer). He received his Master of Physician Assistant Studies in 2015 from Chatham University.

Derek has been a member of the Future Pediatrics team since 2015. He strives daily to offer the best care to the wonderful children and families in Panama City and Panama City Beach. His passion and desire to treat children is easily seen during each and every visit.

He enjoys doing CrossFit, tumbling, traveling and spending time with family, friends and his puppy, Porter.



Tamara Guardia, PA-C (Physician Assistant), MPAS

Tamara Guardia relocated to Florida from Maryland, and has been an integral part of our practice ever since. She is a board-certified Physician Assistant and is licensed in the state of Florida. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology, with a minor in Chemistry from Barry University in 2014.  She received his Master of Physician Assistant Studies in 2016 from Chatham University.

Because of her cultural background, she speaks Spanish fluently and has been a great asset to our Spanish-speaking families. She utilizes her education and experience to provide the best quality care for all of our patients. Her genuine interest and care for children, shines through every encounter with the families that she serves.
